WIXTA INDUSTRIES

WIXTA INDUSTRIES is an Hi-tech company born in 2009, which is investing to develop highly advanced technological solutions based on the physical principle of “Hydrodynamic Controlled Cavitation”. After years of intense research on the Hydrodynamic Cavitation in liquids, benefiting also from the support of the European Space Agency (ESA) in the TTP incubation program for technological transfer in EBI ITALY incubator at ITECH Tecnopolo Tiburtino financed by BIC Lazio (the hi-tech regional technology incubator), WIXTA has developed a patented concept and design of a Centrifugal Hydrocavitation Reactor (CHR) usable for many different industrial applications.

Hydrodynamic cavitation consists in the generation of huge amounts of concentered energy in the form of shock waves, due to the turbulence produced in a fluid by pressure drops in local conditions: vaporization and implosion of microbubbles release a huge amount of energy, which can be used for disinfection and heating, when using a specific design for controlling cavitation phenomenon. Wixta Industries has patented an innovative configuration of Centrifugal Hydrocavitation Reactor (CHR), which allows to revolutionize the industrial application of liquid treatment. Technology has been tested so far at pilot scale for wastewater treatment, biofuel emulsion, oil/water emulsion.
The treatment of wastewater (or potable water) in CHR allows to strongly reduce the presence of pollutants, with no use of chemical compounds, small scale and scalable plants, good energy efficiency.
The CHR is also being studied to innovate oil refinery  processes, using hydrocavitation for the conversion of crude oil into light hydrocarbons to a greater percentage per barrel, increasing the energy efficiency of the conversion process.
A European R&D project is ongoing for the fluid food homogenizazion and pasteurization.
